Project Manager
Location: London
To manage various sized networking/telecommunications projects in an international environment. The Project Manager will lead both UK and European teams to ensure delivery of contractual obligations on time, to budget and over and above the defined quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Determine and analyse risks to project delivery
- Deviation management
- Ensure customer acceptance
- Ensure operational handover and acceptance
- Maintain professional relationships with the customer, external suppliers and team members by:
- Determining key contacts and establishing process for escalation of problems
- Conducting regular reviews with all parties
- Promoting the use of consistent standards and procedures
- Co-ordinating a matrix team of internal and external suppliers to deliver agreed commitments by:
- Ensuring the project team has the necessary skills to guarantee delivery
- Establishing a reporting structure and escalation process
- Conducting regular individual and team reviews to monitor progress against objectives
- Ensuring that all necessary products and services are in place to the agreed project plan
Skills and Experience
- Technical awareness of local and wide area networks, for example:
- Communications equipment
- Networking capabilities
- Carrier service offerings
- Project management tools, techniques and tools
- Business and commercial skills
- Interpersonal skills – communication and negotiation
- Minimum 2 years experience of telecommunications/networking arena
- 5-10 years project management experience
- A flexible, innovative approach, coupled with a “can do” attitude
